GlobalData has unveiled the rankings of the top financial and legal advisors in the mergers and acquisitions (M&A) in the energy sector for 2023.Rothschild & Co and Jones Day stood out.
According to the latest Financial and Legal Adviser League Tables rankings published by GlobalData, Rothschild & Co was the leading financial advisor in M&A in the energy sector, in terms of value and volume, for the year 2023. GlobalData's analysis indicates that the firm achieved this performance by advising on 22 transactions with a total value of $16 billion. Despite a decrease in the number of advised transactions, Rothschild & Co maintained its volume leadership position in 2023, while recording an increase in the value of advised transactions, moving from sixth to first place compared to 2022.Jones Day and Kirkland & Ellis, on the other hand, were the leading M&A legal advisors in the energy sector in 2023, in terms of value and volume. According to GlobalData’s data, Jones Day garnered a total of $13.5 billion in transaction value in 2023, while Kirkland & Ellis advised a total of 34 transactions.Goldman Sachs, Barclays, Lazard, and Bank of America also performed strongly in terms of transaction value. KPMG, Ernst & Young, PwC, and JP Morgan held the following positions in volume of transactions completed in 2023.Moreover, in terms of legal advice, Kirkland & Ellis, Allen & Overy, Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher, and Clifford Chance also held foreground positions in terms of transaction value, while Allen & Overy, White & Case, CMS, and Clifford Chance positioned themselves on the volume of advised transactions for 2023.
Ah ben voilà, on a mis Rothschild et Jones Day aux commandes et on s'étonne après de voir le secteur de l'énergie en pleine tourmente ? Ils ne pensent qu'à leur profits, ces énarques ! Et qui trinque à la fin ? C'est toujours le petit peuple, hein... Bref, classer ces gens-là comme 'meilleurs conseillers', ça me fait doucement rire, tiens...
